Caltrain Bayshore Station Master Plan

Linking Caltrain and MUNI through a vibrant transit-oriented district

Robin Chiang & Company collaborated with Arup on a comprehensive study of the Brisbane Caltrain Station Area, located at the northern edge of San Mateo County where Brisbane meets San Francisco. The study explored alternative alignments for extending Geneva Avenue east of Highway 101 to connect the Caltrain and SFMTA networks—an infrastructure move intended to unlock new opportunities for mobility, development, and public realm enhancement.

RCCo led the transit-oriented development (TOD) component of the study, focusing on pedestrian circulation, building massing, and architectural character. The team developed conceptual programs and illustrated design scenarios for community workshops and the final report to the San Francisco County Transportation Authority. The work envisioned transforming an underutilized brownfield site into a cohesive, walkable district that integrates transit connectivity with livable urban form.
