At the base of Silicon Valley bordering San Jose, Sunnyvale and Cupertino is historic Santa Clara, “The Mission City”, named after Mission Santa Clara founded in 1777.  The city is home to major entertainment destinations, Great America and Levi’s Stadium where the 49ers football team is based, as well as international businesses, including Applied Materials, Intel and Texas Instruments.  The city of Santa Clara has a population of 122,192 overall, with a veteran population of 4,176. The median houshold income is $91,583. Nearby are headquarters of Apple, Google and Facebook.  

Next to the city’s historic train station, Republic Metropolitan plans to build a transit oriented development on a site jointly owned by the City of Santa Clara and the Valley Transportation Authority. At the time of this article, January 2016, ReMet is in exclusive negotiation with these agencies for joint development.  Centrally located, the site is directly across the street from Santa Clara University and half a mile from Norman Mineta International Airport.
