Reserva del Higuerón, a 600 unit townhouse and apartments resort development in the Costa del Sol, Spain near Málaga has been built on a rural hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. In 1997, Robin Chiang & Company (RCCo) was commissioned to master plan the residential development. In 1998 RCCo designed the multi-family residential units and in 1999 RCCo consulted on the planning and design of the first villas and a recreation and spa center. In 2006 RCCo designed the boutique four-star Airen Hotel next to the recreation center.
Robin Chiang was the design architect for this colorful vacation project that has attracted first-time home buyers who commute to the big city to work. The cinder block and plaster housing units have been woven into landscapes that feature captured runoff with willows and myrtles.
